Tryout Requirements for Boys HS Hockey

By Justin Strunk, 11/09/14, 12:00PM CST

A few reminders for tryouts that begin next Monday

Players must be registered through the Athletic Office.  Physical on file, all forms turned into Athletic Office, etc.  I will get an updated list from Joann our Athletic Secretary on Monday at 2:10, any player not on her registered list will not be allowed to tryout.  Our coaching staff will not accept any paperwork.

Players must be earning at least 70% or greater in all of their classes in order to be evaluated on the ice.  I will print out grades at 2:10 on Monday, any player earning less than 70% in any of their classes will not be allowed to tryout on Monday.  I will follow the same procedure for each day throughout the week.  Any grade changes and updates must be showing online by 2:10 each day in order to step on the ice each day for that tryout.  Don't assume that your player can turn in a missing/late assignment in 5th hour on Monday, and have it graded/recorded/updated online in campus by 2:10. Our coaching staff will not accept any notes from teachers.  We understand that there may extenuating circumstances, please communicate those with the coaching staff, and we will deal with those on an individual basis.

All players must be properly equipped in order to step on the ice.  This includes, but is not limited to, proper helmets with ear flaps and all straps in place, and custom fit mouthguards that stay in place securely OR a mouthguard with a strap on it.

Players should wear a Royal Blue jersey OR a Black jersey.

Players should wear 2 matching socks that are of Rogers Royals colors. They can be solid, or striped.  Royal Blue, Black, White, and Gray, in any combination are acceptable.  We will only wear colors that show off our ROYAL PRIDE.
